What is Partial Turbine Repowering?

• The FIEC and FIW board members unanimously endorse a plan to partially repower our existing wind turbines.

• “Partial repowering” is the replacement and upgrade of outdated and worn-out components inside the turbine, as well as the blades, with modern, efficient versions.

• Under partial repowering, we keep the existing towers and foundations and the other fixed infrastructure at the site, with no changes or impacts to the site itself.

• Because the new components are more efficient and more reliable than the existing aging equipment, repowering should increase our energy production by about 30%.

• Repowering will also extend the operating life of our turbines by another 20-25 years.
